LA MARINA BALDRICKS GOLF SOCIETY CAPTAIN’S TROPHY

20 members & guests assembled for a 0904 tee time at EL Plantio for our annual Captain’s Trophy Competition. This like last year was a pairs competition, with the higher handicappers paired with the lower and scored with a combined Stableford points total.

Though the fairways and tees were pretty good, the greens generally were in very poor condition and extremely bumpy, making accurate putting virtually impossible, this was reflected in the scoring today.

Despite this everyone enjoyed the day, especially the early afternoon when the breeze picked up. We also welcomed a new member today, John Leach, one of the dog people from El Pinet

Today turned into a Keith Whitton benevolent day, yes folks after a mediocre few months, El Bandido is back, bigger and badder than ever; nearest the pin, longest drive, highest score and winner of the Captain’s Trophy with Bob Daniels, as you can see from the photo he needed more hands.

Thanks to our Captain Dave Cooper for putting up extra prizes and trophies on the day, pity most of them were won by one bloke.
As usual we returned to the Final Whistle for the presentations and an excellent buffet, thanks again to Linda & Company.
